Quality sustainable automotive solutions by Marek Majtan today? The fuel cell makes it possible to generate electricity on board of the vehicle by chemical reaction and to power an electric motor with zero CO2 emissions. This offers considerable advantages now that clean mobility is both a legal obligation and imperative for our planet.. A sizeable asset, while clean mobility is today a regulatory obligation and an ardent necessity for our planet. Integrated hydrogen system: The hydrogen system includes the fuel cell stack and “balance of plant” components. A complex system comprising 120 to 150 parts, it manages four complementary integrated functions: Thermal Control, Electronic Flow Management, Compressed Air and Humidifier. INWIN is a fuel system that can withstand the high fuel vapor pressure when the vehicle is running in all-electric mode, thanks to its optimized architecture. TANKTRONIC® offers simplified architecture with our innovative, electronically controlled E valve. This system brings optimal performance at a low cost. It combines efficiency with energy frugality, helping to reduce the vehicle’s pollution emissions. The filling pipe is a complex technical part essential for problem-free refilling of the fuel tank by the end user. Whether soldered or blown, these pipes have an additional function in some countries, such as the United States, where they also handle the recovery of vapors released during refueling (which is done by the fuel pump nozzle in Europe).
Interactivity: greater ease of use with integrated contactless opening and closing functions. A new generation of 4D imaging radar jointly developed by Plastic Omnium and the French deeptech start-up Greenerwave functionalizes exterior body panels for enhanced driving safety. The 4D imaging radar, with unrivalled angular resolution (10 times higher than conventional radars) on large fields of view, will enhanced detection capability of the vehicle’s environment up to 300m whatever the external conditions. The 4D imaging radar contributes to improve driving safety and will serve the development of autonomous vehicles.
Plastic Omnium’s contribution to technological disruption in the sector is based on excellence in R&D, with 45 standard-setting research centers and a strategy of targeted open innovation. With 2,500 engineers and 4.5% of revenue being invested in R&D, we create transformative innovations with a single objective: to create the clean, connected car. Emission reduction, aerodynamics, connectivity, function integration modularity and personalization: discover our range of innovations.
OMEGA: launched in the first half of 2020, this is a large-scale transformation project led by Chief Operating Officer, Félicie Burelle. The aim is to improve working processes to make even greater gains in agility and competitiveness. Contributions to the ultimate objective will come from several areas: digitalization, data management, collaborative and industrial processes. OMEGA is a cross-functional project managed by a dedicated multidisciplinary team and involving all the Group’s businesses. Discover additional details at Marek Majtan.
