Fashion and garden trends? In May, Hedi Slimane has presented his latest collection for Celine, for autumn/winter 2022, which he chose to stage in two historical monuments in Paris, the Hôtel de la Marine and the the Hôtel National des Invalide. Entitled ‘Dans Paris’, the show was filmed by Slimane, off the usual Paris Fashion Week schedule and starred Kaia Gerber. Ralph Lauren opted to show away from the traditional fashion week schedule for autumn/winter 2022, instead holding an elegant evening at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. When I decided months ago to share my new collection in this intimate experience, there was no war in Ukraine, said the designer in a message to show guests. The tragedy and devastation we are witnessing now was unthinkable. Back then all I could think about was coming back together with my teams and all of you to share the hopefulness that collaboration and creativity can inspire. So, in the midst of this sadness, we go forward united in our hope for peace, and our hope for the end of this pandemic and a return to being together. I am so proud to be with you again sharing not only a collection, but an optimism for living that respects the dignity of all.” That optimism was reflected in a completely timeless collection of monochromatic pieces – punctuated with occasional bursts of red – in the sleek lines and tailored silhouettes that the label does so well. I am so excited about spring/summer 2022’s fashion trends. The overarching mood was one of real optimism, but where the previous season perhaps went into overdrive with the desire (desperation?) to get dressed up for even the most low-key of weekly grocery shops, the outlook for spring and summer is that there is a time and place to be extra fabulous but still a strong demand and a necessity for easy, simple, luxurious, gorgeous clothes and outfits you can fling on in a hurry.

Herbs can make for a beautiful and budget-friendly wedding centerpiece. Brides all over the world are getting in on this trend. Herb centerpieces can be made from a large variety of herbs and can be dressed up or dressed down depending on how formal the affair is. Expert tip: Herb centerpieces work perfectly for a wedding that is trying to go with a more simple style, especially for their table decor. DIY brides will be willing to take on this task since it does not entail much experience. No two bridesmaids are the same so who said their bouquet has to be the same as well? With the rise of mismatched bridesmaids dresses, we are also seeing the trend of mismatched bouquets. Expert tip: Create one-of-a-kind bridesmaids bouquets that work with the specific dress, style, and personality for each bridesmaid. Florists can change up the type of flower, bouquet color, or arrangement style.

Luxurious soft bridal waves: Soft waves and wedding hair go hand in hand. And so it continues into 2022. The updated look would feel at home on the red carpet with a touch of bohemian styling. A little bit imperfect, a touch of effortless chic, add a bit of volume and texture to mess things up a bit. Keep it simple. Style this look with a delicate crown or headband, a small side comb or statement earrings. Less is definitely more with this look – you might even find just a wedding veil is all you need. Whether it’s familial or cultural wedding traditions that have a special meaning, or if there’s a tradition that the two of you want to start for future generations, don’t be afraid to incorporate some heartfelt, personal touches into your wedding day festivities—prior to the wedding, during the ceremony, or at the reception. Remember, this is your day! Whether you want your guests to share moments of your wedding day with the world or prefer to have an unplugged wedding, strategy is key. Hashtags, signage, and photo booths are a great way to get guests posting on social. On the other hand, if you don’t want your guests snapping shots or taking videos during the ceremony, have the officiant make a quick announcement before proceedings begin.
